Image Description and Details : IC 1318 taken in South Portugal. IC 1318 also called the Butterfly Nebula, is a nebula in emission in the constellation Cygnus.  It is a huge nebula in emission, quite bright and distinct, in the shape of a circumflex accent, rather difficult to see, but which appears easily on photographs. It has in its center a dark nebula. It spreads around the bright star Sadr (γ Cygni). It is located in the Milky Way, thus on a background rich in stars.
