Helix Nebula (NGC 7293) — The Eye of God
The Helix Nebula (NGC 7293), often referred to as the "Eye of God," is one of the closest and most studied planetary nebulae to Earth, located about 655 light-years away in the constellation Aquarius.
Its structure is a complex, three-dimensional arrangement resulting from the late-stage evolution of a Sun-like star.
High-energy ultraviolet radiation emitted by this central remnant energizes and ionizes the surrounding shell of expelled gases, causing them to glow vividly.
