Description and Details: Dark and bright nebulae meet in this wide-field view of Orion. On the left, the Boogeyman Nebula (LDN 1622) appears as a dark silhouette against the faint red glow of Barnard’s Loop, a vast arc of ionized hydrogen. To the right, the reflection nebula M78 shines with scattered starlight from nearby young stars.
Telescope: Meade 70/350mm quadruplet
Camera: ZWO ASI 2600MC Pro
Mounts: ZWO AM3
Filters: Optolong L-Ultimate, IDAS LPS-D1
