Image Description and Details: The Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) is very prominent in our southern skies and within its bounds can be found many interesting and colourful deep sky objects. This image is of an area in the north east corner of the LMC surrounding the globular cluster NGC 2004 and has been taken with filters tuned to the light coming from hydrogen, oxygen and sulphur gases present in the nebulae.

Acquisition details:

H-alpha 6nm: 26×1200″(8h 40′)

OIII 6nm: 27×1200″(9h)

SII 6nm: 28×1200″(9h 20′)

Blue: 34×300″(2h 50′)

Green: 32×300″(2h 40′)

Red: 33×300″(2h 45′)

Total integration time = 35h 15'

Equipment Details: OTA: Tak TSA120 (with reducer)

Camera: QSI 683 CCD

Mount: Skywatcher EQ8
