Image Description and Details: Sh2-120 is an emission nebula visible in the constellation Cygnus.

It is located in the northern part of the constellation, about 6° northwest of the bright star Deneb. The most suitable period for its observation in the evening sky is between the months of July and December and, due to its strong northern declination, it is considerably facilitated for observers located in the regions of the northern hemisphere.

It appears as a small circular cloud with a diameter of only one arc minute, located in a galactic region partially obscured by dense dust banks located in the foreground of the cloud itself, including LDN 988. Sh2-120 is a little-studied object. According to a 1978 study, its distance was estimated at about 6,300 pc (∼20,500 ly) from the solar system
