Description and Details: SNR G65.3+5.7 (Sh2-91 - 94 - 96)

SNR G65.3+5.7 is a faint and diffuse supernova remnant located in the constellation Cygnus, which includes part of the region cataloged as Sh2-91, Sh2-94, and Sh2-96. It is a difficult target due to its low surface brightness and background stellar density (I had to recalibrate these), but it is visible with wide-field instruments and appropriate filters. Its angular size is approximately 3 x 4 degrees, similar to that of the more famous Veil Nebula in Cygnus. It appears as a series of nebulous filaments, with a predominance of OIII (triply ionized oxygen) emissions and a faint H-alpha signal. It is estimated to be between 20,000 and 25,000 years old and is located approximately 2,600–3,200 light-years from Earth.
