X marks the spot ( NGC5907)

Image Title: X marks the spot

Date image was taken: April 06, 2024

Location: Celenia Observatory, Corinthia highlands, Greece.

Image Description and Details: A two seasons project of NGC5907 edge-on galaxy.
The ancient loop was still quite faint even with so many hours of data. There is only one stream as the Dragon fly telescope array confirmed, not two.
It’s interesting to see additional features at the outskirts of the galaxy reshaping its familiar knife edge appearance, it’s a kind of a gift bonus as faint material reveals its self the way gravity demands.
I hope you enjoy the view.

Equipment Details: Officina Stellare ProRC400 f/8.7 telescope, Parallax HD200-Astrophysics mount, Cmos camera : IMX 455 sensor, industrial grade "k" , FLI ATLAS focuser, OPTEC PYXIS 3 rotator, MMOAG OAG.
