Carina Nebula

Two-panel mosaic contrasts the Carina Nebula (NGC 3372) and the Statue of Liberty Nebula (NGC 3576). The Carina Nebula, located about 7,500 light-years away, is a massive star-forming region rich in dust and gas, home to the luminous star Eta Carinae. It showcases intricate structures like pillars of creation. In contrast, the Statue of Liberty Nebula, approximately 9,000 light-years distant, features a prominent shape resembling the statue, formed by outflows from massive stars.
