Description and Details: This image shows periodic comet 220P/McNaught on 17 September 2026, captured from a Bortle 4 site near Voshtan village, Firuzkooh, Tehran Province, Iran. Over the past two months the comet’s tail changed dramatically, becoming long, thin, and diffuse. To record its full apparent length, I used a Samyang 135 mm f/2.8 lens with a ZWO ASI2600MC on an iOptron GEM28 (unguided, APT auto‑dithering).
The comet was located in Taurus near the Eridanus border, where faint integrated flux nebula (IFN) and molecular clouds fill the background. The wide field allowed both the extended tail and the surrounding IFN to be captured in a single frame.
Equipment: ASI2600MC, Samyang 135 mm f/2.8, iOptron GEM28
