Description and Details: Fornax A and Fornax B are two distinct galaxies within the Fornax Cluster, a group of galaxies about 62 million light-years from Earth. While they appear close together in the sky, uncertainties in their distances mean they are not gravitationally interacting. Fornax A, or NGC 1316 is a massive lenticular galaxy, a type that is halfway between a spiral and an elliptical. Fornax B, or NGC 1317 on the other hand is a much smaller intermediate spiral galaxy…
