Description and Details: IC 5148 is a beautiful planetary nebula in the constellation of Grus. It is one of the southern hemisphere's most famous nebulae of this type. The nebula features strong H-alpha and OIII emission in its center. Special processing that reveals just the excess H-alpha was used here to show the inner structure within the OIII emission. The very faint outer shells require very long exposure times to capture.
