M17 aka The Omega Nebula

IMAGE DESCRIPTION AND DETAILS: This is an image of M17-The Omega nebula in HOO.

Southern of the more famous M16-Eagle nebula, in the constellation Saggittarius, lays this H-alpha rich region, one of the biggest star forming regions of our Galaxy.

Captured during the first two weeks of July, from Athens, Greece, using my Lacerta 8" f4 astrograph, QHY183m camera, SW EQ6R pro mount and Antlia Edge Ha and Oiii filters.
