Description and Details: NGC 1097 (or Caldwell 67) is a large barred spiral galaxy of type SB(s)b located in the constellation Fornax.
It measures more than 158,000 light-years in diameter and is located about 45 million light-years from Earth. Its distortions are due to interactions with its neighbors. In the upper right part of the galaxy, one of its satellite galaxies can be seen: NGC 1097A.
If you look closely at the image, you can see mysterious jets, particularly in the upper part.
Set-up: Planewave CDK 14 telescope on Mathis Mi-500/750 mount.
39 hours in LRVB-Ha.
