Description and Details: Imaged from Portugal over 3 nights in August 2026 with an Astro-Physics 130mm mounted on an AP Mach1 mount.
The HOO image is the result of 7 hours of imaging through H and O filters to capture the nebulosity and 1.5 hours each through R, G and B filters to capture the stars.
NGC 6819 is a rich open star cluster located in the constellation Cygnus.
The faint red glow behind NGC 6819 is part of the widespread hydrogen-alpha emission nebulosity that fills much of Cygnus. It comes from thin clouds of ionized hydrogen gas, which emit strongly at the deep-red Hα wavelength of 656.3 nm when energized by ultraviolet radiation from nearby hot stars.
