Description and Details: A luminous lunar halo shines above the snow-covered hills of Doda, Jammu & Kashmir, on a bone-chilling winter night. Formed by moonlight refracting through hexagonal ice crystals suspended in high-altitude cirrostratus clouds, the halo encircles the Moon with a soft, ethereal glow. The winter sky reveals familiar companions—Orion, Taurus, Gemini, the Pleiades, and Jupiter—adding scale and depth to the scene. As the night progressed, the halo slowly faded behind the frozen landscape, captured through still images and time-lapse, preserving a fleeting atmospheric and astronomical moment.
