Description and Details: For some months now, my friend Victor Sabet and I have a gear installed at the Starfront Observatories in Texas and today, we are glad to share you our last image in very close collaboration with two other astrophotographers Cédric Humbert and Charles Robert.
Where Stars Are Born and Die (M8, M20 & SNR G007.5-01.7)
With our camera set at 0°, capturing both nebulae required assembling a two-panel mosaic. This wider framing also revealed a large portion of the faint supernova remnant SNR G007.5-01.7, adding the rare and fragile signature of stellar death to the scene.
The final image brings together three cosmic actors: the Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae — stellar nurseries where countless stars are born — alongside the delicate filaments left behind by a dying star at the very end of its life.
This striking contrast between creation and destruction, between birth and death on a stellar scale, inspired the title of this mosaic.
To make the most of the high resolution, we’ve also included some cropped views below.
